Winnetka Cup match: Saturday July 18 : Elms beat the Oaks 11 1/2  to 7

July 18th saw 24 of our club members teeing it up in the Winnetka Cup.  The Elms could only field 9 men to battle the Oaks and try to avenge last season's 11 -6 loss to the Oaks.  3 of the Oaks were waived for the day to play as Elms so that we could have an even number of matches.  However,  on this day  the Elms prevailed.  All appeared to favor the Oaks until  a lightning strike nearby called all the players off the course for some 30 minutes.  The Elms took this as a sign from the divine and went on to spank the Oaks 11 half to 7. 
Thanks to all who played, and thanks to Matt Lenhart, Kemper's food and beverage maven, who provided us a nice variety of lunch items.
There is a good chance we can hold a rematch in the Fall.  Stay tuned.
