Weekly Golf Round-Up: The Gross Stableford by Class Showdown Edition
Welcome back to another thrilling episode of “Swing Hard and Hope for the Best,” where divots fly, egos bruise, and somehow—scores happen. This week’s Gross Stableford in Class event brought out the best, the boldest, and the most bewildered. Let’s tee off with the top performers by class:
Championship Class – Where the grass fears their footsteps
1. Jonathan Kunkle – 32 points for $16
The man plays like his irons are blessed by the golf gods. Rumor has it his ball once asked for directions to the hole.
2. Clarke Gagliardi – 24 points for $12
Smooth swing, sharper wit. Clarke’s score proves you don’t need birdies when you’ve got swagger.
3. Bill Sholten – 23 points for $9
Bill’s game is like a fine wine—aged, complex, and occasionally spilled on the scorecard.
Class A – The stylish assassins of the fairway
1. Kyle Burke – 31 points for $16
Kyle’s drives were so straight, GPS asked him for tips.
2. Tom Yocky – 30 points for $12
Our very own Tom! He played like the course owed him money.
3. Robin Mitra & Jeremy Neisewander – 25 points for a tie for third so $4.50 each
A dynamic duo of precision and persistence. If golf were a buddy cop movie, these two would be chasing birdies and breaking hearts.
Class B – The grinders, the dreamers, the snack cart loyalists
1. James Barrett, John Swierk, Michael Tyska – 19 points an amazing three-way tie so all get $12.50
These gentlemen proved that teamwork makes the leaderboard dream work—even if they didn’t actually play together.
Honorable mention: Paul Lively (14 points) – who played lively, indeed.
Class C – The Last Will be First with overachieving swings
1. James Burke – 12 points for 1st and $16
James played like he had something to prove—and the scorecard agrees.
2. Blake Batterson & William Barasa – 11 points as a tie for 2nd and 3rd so a $10.50 each
Their swings were unpredictable, their scores respectable, and their post-round stories… legendary.
That’s a wrap on this week’s turf tango. Whether you topped the leaderboard or topped your tee shot, remember: golf is 90% mental and 10% blaming your equipment. See you next week—same time, same tees, slightly different excuses.
