Description & Format:  Single elimination match play competition open to all Winnetka Men’s Club members who qualify, in five classes.  Winner of each 18-hole match advances to the next round until a champion is determined.

Handicap index as of the May 28 CDGA update applies for determining eligibility, except that all class match play champions from the prior year must use their season ending handicap index from the prior year (i.e. October 23, 2008)  if lower than the May 28, 2009 index.

 

Entry & qualifyingEntry & qualifying Register on the website. The first 16 registrants will be seeded by handicap.

 

Schedule:  Draws will be posted the week of June 1 on the bulletin board and the website. Players must self-arrange their matches at a mutually agreed time to meet the deadlines published on the draw sheets.   Each player is required to promptly contact his opponent to schedule competitions.  Please don’t enter the competition if you are unable to play the entire schedule.   In accordance with USGA rules 6-3 and 33-3, if a round is not played by the scheduled date, the two players will be penalized, and if necessary, defaulted according to the Men’s Club Tournament Guidelines published herein.

 

Ties:  In the event of a tie after 18 holes, the players will play off starting at hole #1, and play each hole sudden death until one player wins a hole.


Tee Markers:  The Championship Class and Class A matches are to be played from the black tees; B and C play from the blue tees and Class D plays from the white tees.
